As Christmas approaches, Bamberg becomes a wintry town full of romance.

Christmas markets, the music of advent and the Nativity stations are just some of the elements that fill the World Heritage City with wintry magic and romance each and every year. With five Christmas markets, from the Mediaeval Market in the Old Court to the arts and crafts market and the traditional large Christmas Market on Maxplatz square, the season of goodwill is both a rich and exciting experience. Church music concerts, town musicians and, of course, the New Year's Eve concert by the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra are all music to the ears, creating special and unforgettable festive moments. Those visiting the more than 400 historical nativity scenes spread across about 40 stations around the town cannot help but get in the mood for the most festive occasion of the year.
