More than 1000 years ago, long before Bamberg became famous for its beer, the region around Bamberg already had a large number of wine-growing areas.

Even today, the wine produced in and around Bamberg, right on the border of Beer- and Wine-Franconia, is highly considered amongst wine connoisseurs, besides it’s the only Franconian wine made in Upper Franconia.

The brewing tradition therefore hasn’t totally ousted the love for an excellent drop of wine as you can also see in the popularity of the various wine festivals in and around Bamberg.
