 A treat for epicures and a guided tour all rolled into one This guided tour takes you back in history, retracing Bamberg's culture of eating and drinking through the centuries. The historical episodes are all garnished with three culinary stops featuring traditional Bamberg dishes and beer.
Programme:
- 4pm: Part 1 of the guided tour: St. Michael's Benedictine Monastery and Cathedral Hill. First culinary stop: Onion Treader's salad with a small non-alcoholic drink or a small beer.
- Followed by Part 2 of the guided tour (approx. 5.15pm): Everyday life, eating and drinking habits in the baroque period - Little Venice, Schlenkerla, Pfahlplätzchen, Church of Our Lady, Böttinger House. Second culinary stop: Blue sausages with horseradish and bread and a generous half of Bamberg beer.
- Followed by Part 3 of the guided tour (approx. 6.15pm): Everyday life of the millers and bourgeois life at court - millers' district, Old Town Hall. Third culinary stop (from approx. 7pm): Marinated roast beef with a dumpling and red cabbage.
