 The origin of "Herrenpils" The brewery situated directly opposite "Maria Hilf" church was established in 1867 and has been under family ownership ever since. "Bamberger Herren Pils" is by far its best selling beer. The brewery also offers Keesmann light and Keesmann wheat beer, which like champagne ferments in the bottle: "Sternla", an ambre lager has been available for the past few years. The period from mid-October to the end of December, always marks the popular Keesmann Bock season. An additional speciality appears in time for lent and is known as Josephi-Bock beer.
