In the early 17th century, the Jesuits created and presented the first nativity scene in Bamberg, marking the beginning of a tradition which continues to the present day. The nativity trail comprises around 40 stops, including museums and churches featuring some significant models, as well as large-scale nativity scenes in squares around the city.
