The tombs of saints, relics of Jesus Christ, endless other relics in the Cathedral's treasure chamber and its location along the Pilgrim's Way of St Jacob are just some of the reasons why Bamberg became a destination for pilgrims as early as the Middle Ages. The guided tour puts you in touch with this deep sense of devoutness and lived prayer, which is reflected in the city's splendid churches, votive pictures, relics and crypts.

Please note that a visit inside the Cathedral cannot be guaranteed. Viewings are generally not possible during mass and other church services and events or on the following days: Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday to Good Friday, 29/30 June, 1/2 November and 24 December. Guided tours through the Cathedral are also not possible on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays.
