Festivals and Markets 

There is always a party going on somewhere in Bamberg. The Franconian hospitality expresses itself when people get together, and during festivals and markets, guests celebrate together with Bamberg's citizens. The major occasions to celebrate are the numerous anniversaries of churches' consecrations. Thus, almost every weekend until the autumn, conviviality, hurly-burly and happy atmosphere are to be found in an open-air street festival. The « Bamberger Sandkirchweih » is one of the largest street festival in Franconia : during five days, the Old Town is transformed into a big party area.
